In 2014 I wrote my college admissions essay in response to the following prompt: “Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. Share what you do or experience there and why it’s meaningful to you.”
For me walking through the gates of any venue feels like stepping out of one world and into another, the latter free of the worries, pressure, and conflict that exist in the former. A place and period of peace follows.
