A huge thank you to Gorman and crew for hosting, to Gavin for putting my in touch with Gorman, and to you for attending the rooftop show. Having grown up in northern New Jersey, I’ve always envisioned performing in New York City. Whether performing at The Bowery Electric, Rockwood Music Hall, or an apartment rooftop, I have a great time and it’s a meaningful experience.
While introducing my song “Lake George” I mentioned that I’d like to share the recently recorded full band version of the song with you. You can listen to the final mix of the song using the audio player above. I’m excited to release this song in a few weeks!
“Lake George” is about my returning to a place as an adult that I developed a deep connection with as a kid. Raised in northern New Jersey, I spent countless weekends in Lake George with my family and family friends, hanging out on the lake, camping, swimming, cliff jumping, tubing, water skiing, laughing uncontrollably, learning to love the outdoors and believing anything is possible. Then I “grew up.” The song is also a reflection on how I felt as a kid, how I felt at the time of writing the song (April 2023), and how I felt about some of the ways my life unfolded in the interim.
Note: This final mix will be “mastered” by the sound engineer I worked with on this recording project very soon, so while it’s a near-final product, it’s not “the” final product. Coming soon :)
P.S. If you know anyone that might appreciate my performance and music in any of the places I’ll be performing in soon (Boston, Somerville, Portland (ME), Denver, Salt Lake City) I’d greatly appreciate if you spread the word!
